The effect of Cd impurity on the electronic structure and magnetic properties of hydrogen-terminated AlN nanoribbons with zigzag edges (ZAlNNRs) was investigate using the band structure results obtained through the full potential linearized augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW) method within the density functional theory (DFT). The exchange correlation potential was treated by the generalized gradient approximation within the Perdew scheme. The calculated results show that the H-terminated zigzag AlN nanoribbon is semiconducting and nonmagnetic material with a direct band gap of about 2.78 eV, while the Cd-doped H-terminated ZAlNNR structures show complete (100 %) spin polarization very close to the Fermi level, which will result in spin-anisotropic transport. The charge transport is totally dominated by Cd spin down electrons in the H-terminated ZAlNNR. These results suggest potential applications for the development of using the AlN nanoribbons in nanoelectronics and magnetoelectronic devices as a base. 相似文献

Multipurpose pipeline is often seriously corroded during its service life, and the phenomenon is more prominent once the transportation medium is changed. Electrochemical polarization curves and impedance spectroscopy of the API 5L Gr. X60 steel pipeline’s corrosion process in sedimentary water with different ion types and their concentrations have been studied in this work. The results showed that the corrosion rates were found to be 0.00418 and 0.00232 mm/a for pure water and crude oil, respectively. However, for the mixtures of water and crude oil (with water content increased from 0.2 vol% to 10 vol%), the corrosion rate increased consistently and reached a maximum value of 0.15557 mm/a for 10 vol% water in crude oil. The effect of the concentration of various ions, namely, chloride, bicarbonate and sulfate in (oil/water) mixtures on the corrosion rate was characterized by weight-loss method. The results showed that with increasing the ions’ concentrations, the corresponding exchange current density increased significantly. The results were further supported by the observations of corrosion morphology using scanning electron microscopy and are helpful in devising guidelines which would help in reducing corrosion in multipurpose transport pipelines involving a change of transported medium during their service life. 相似文献

The response of a granular chain to impulse loading was investigated as a function of material properties. Using COMSOL Multiphysics, the elastic modulus and density of the grains were varied while the piston and force sensor properties remained fixed. The result of solitary wave propagation through the granular chain was recorded at the force sensor as a series of reaction force waves. It was found that wave velocity and amplitude increased with elastic modulus. Increasing density caused a decrease in wave velocity and an increase in amplitude. In addition, higher density granular chains exhibited a decrease in the number of waves in their respective reaction force wave trains. LS-DYNA was then used to explore the response of a variety of ceramic and metallic granular chains. Density, elastic modulus, and Poisson’s ratio were all set to representative values for the respective material. It was found that solitary wave development and decay occurred at different rates for different materials. In addition, the kinetic energy decay of the impactor was slower for glass compared with tungsten. Finally, it was shown that a single reaction force wave with no train could be produced by impacting a high density, high modulus chain such as tungsten with a glass piston, which has relatively low density and elastic modulus. Friction Stir Extrusion is a novel technique for direct recycling of metal scrap. In the process, a dedicated tool produces both the heat and the pressure to compact and extrude the original raw material, i.e., machining chip, as a consolidated component. A proper fixture was used to carry out an experimental campaign on Friction Stir Extrusion of AZ31 magnesium alloy. Variable tool rotation and extrusion ratio were considered. Appearance of defects and fractures was related to either too high or too low power input. The extruded rods were investigated both from the metallurgical and mechanical points of view. Tensile strength up to 80 % of the parent material was found for the best combination of process parameters. A peculiar 3D helical material flow was highlighted through metallurgical observation of the specimens. 相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a generic way to represent and manipulate pairwise information about partial orders (representing rankings, preferences, ...) with belief functions. We provide generic and practical tools to make inferences from this pairwise information and illustrate their use on the machine learning problems that are label ranking and multi-label prediction. A power efficient System-on-a-Chip test data compression method using alternating statistical run-length coding is proposed. To effectively reduce test power dissipation, the test set is firstly preprocessed by 2D reordering scheme. To further improve the compression ratio, 4 m partitioning of the runs and a smart filling of the don’t care bits provide the nice results, and alternating statistical run-length coding scheme is developed to encode the preprocessed test set. In addition, a simple decoder is obtained which consumed a little area overhead. The benchmark circuits verify the proposed power efficient coding method well. Experimental results show it obtains a high compression ratio, low scan-in test power dissipation and little extra area overhead during System-on-a-Chip scan testing. 相似文献

Simulink and Stateflow (SL/SF) models are being widely used to design and develop embedded systems. Often the SL/SF models of embedded controllers turn out to be large and consist of many subsystems and hierarchies. When such a system is maintained, it becomes difficult to manually analyse the model to identify the impacted elements due to the existence of several explicit and implicit dependencies among the model elements. To automate the analysis of an SL/SF model, we propose a metamodel to capture various types of dependencies existing across the basic blocks. We have named this metamodel Simulink dependency graph (SLDG). We investigate the use of SLDG in change impact visualization and regression test selection.
